Recent news from China Galland about plans for the immediate future:

"FYI, plans are being finalized for screening of our film at Texas Prairie View A & M, outside of Houston, for the weekend of Feb. 19-21st.  One of the professors here at the San Francisco Theological Seminary, the former Dean, just agreed to fly with me to Houston/Prairie View for the weekend of screening, discussions, and visits to the cemeteries on the Prairie View campus. They're excited abour our coming to show the full version of Resurrecting Love and are planning related publicity for events that the Prairie View Dean and faculty are planning.  Dr. Ronald Lorenzo, Ph.D., has been using our film in his classroom as part of his sociology courses.  He's been screening excerpts from Resurrecting Love for the last few years. . . .

"Next week is our meeting to finalize time, format, and details for our Dec. 3rd screening of Love that's been requested by our local Town Council.  We have our first Black woman mayor, and our first Black county Supervisor who have both personally asked to be notified of the screening in hopes that can attend."

That's Geneva, Switzerland.

During this the year of our country's 250th birthday celebration, we feel that passing Resurrecting Love on to the world is our contribution toward remembering key elements of our history.  Our hope is that we can bring the movie to thousands around the world and make the issues of race, reconciliation and respect for history (true history) fresh and urgent.

Here are some reactions from audiences to early work in progress screenings of our film:

Love Cemetery, the small, two-hundred year old African American cemetery in East Texas represents the endangered landscape of Black burial grounds all over the United States, graveyards that today are getting built over, cut up, covered by freeways and dividing neighborhoods.  With your help, we can offer our documentary on Love Cemetery to audiences countrywide to help stem the tide.

We are fundraising right now to raise $45,000 to successfully put our precious baby into the hands of professional distributors.  ($9,000 in additional legal fees to secure all clearances and form and maintain the LLC that will own the film, $3,500 for the Errors and Omissions Insurance we will have to carry to gain Distribution, another $8,500 to cover Additional Costs for Festivals, limited Promotion and Delivery Costs and $24,000 to pay deferred costs related to services and goods).

Can you help?  We have gotten this far on help from hundreds of small donations and a few successful foundation grant requests.

Or schedule a screening in your community that could help us raise the funds to spread our influence around the country.  In your living room, at a local school or community center, or your church.

Thank you one and all for your ongoing and heartening support!
